Introduction

One of the benefits of owning land in Second Life is that you have the ability to stream media to your parcel, allowing you to show things such as movies, music videos, any video content you desire.

One way to quickly and easily add video to your land is to purchase a pre-made video player that comes bundled with a collection of streams you can play, but you may find that you want to view specific videos that are not available in a store-bought player.

In this series of articles I will show you how to use free tools to encode videos for playback in Second Life, how to host your videos, and how to build a basic video controller to manage your video collection. After reading all of the articles in this series, you should be enjoying your videos on your own screen.

Note: This series is a work in progress, and as such you should check back regularly for new installments.
